Presentation boards

I wanted to see what I could do to show off the cocoon in a presentation board and again what time of environment it could be in. I wanted to show that the cocoon is still a natural thing but in the home becomes so much more. This led onto using autumn leaves (a idea I wanted to use for one product or another)  for the back walls and showing the cocoon in a living room environment.

Other places the cocoon could be

When i designed the cocoon my main idea was for it to be used in a living room or bedroom. So generally around the house, but thinking about it even further I can imagine the cocoon being used in airport waiting rooms ( departure lounges) and other such waiting rooms involving transport. This would allow users to have a break from the stresses of crowds and escape from the location while they wait for there transport to arrive.

I talked about bean bags, but not a lot

I said and have mentioned that the cocoon is going to have a bean bag in the middle that can be changed and taken out. I have not stated the material of the bean bag but i am keen to use POLYESTER which is the same material as the outer section of the cocoon. Its 100% recycled and is a really nice material. There are already currently polyester beanbags on the market so they are durable and of high quality to sell.

To the left is a image of the colour i would liek the beanbag to be to go along with the grey outer layer.

Modelling

I have started to model my cocoon in rhino so i can then go onto using it in boards and in the images to so scale and other things etc. The bean bag inside will be done in maya so i can add a different material to the cocoon and th bean bag.

Base base and base

For the bottom part of the cocoon i want to maintain a circular shape for the bean bag to sit in. When thinking of this and what products look similar I thought of the soft shapes that i used to see at Playzone etc.  I also thought of sofa cushions and how they maintain the shape. This is done using foam (not extremely dense but enough to keep the shape). I will use this foam to fill out the shape in the base but I am prepared to have to add some sort of shape to help maintain the circular shape.
